iOS visual novel Banshees’s Last Cry

As part of the company's latest efforts to localize video game maker Chunsoft's (999/Virtue's Last Reward) extensive visual novel library, Aksys games has released the company's mystery-adventure title Kamaitachi no Yoru as Banshee's Last Cry on Apple's iOS platform. The "sound novel" was originally released in 1994 on the Super Nintendo and eventually ported to PlayStation, Game Boy Advance, PC, mobile phones and the Wii Virtual Console. This is the first time that the game has been released in English.

The game's description reads:

Banshee's Last Cry is a thrilling visual novel and choose-your-own-adventure story that takes readers on a deadly thrill ride of murder and deception. Set in a snowed in hotel lodge during Christmas, vacationers find themselves caught up in a murderous "whodunit" game when someone winds up dead. Local legend tells of a banshee whose screams can rip through flesh, but, is the killer really a deadly monster or the work of a madman?

An inventive twist on the traditional novel, Banshee' Last Cry allows readers to make decisions, each unlocking several unique stories and endings. Added to the mix is a soundtrack befitting of a thriller novel and images to set the mood.

With more than thirty endings, the game is a free download for the introduction and $3.99 for the in-app purchase. It also received a 12+ rating and features an install size of 432 MB on iTunes. The game will be released for both the Android and Amazon Apps soon.
