supercell slicing its way to Katanagatari

supercell will be playing the new opening for the re-run of Katanagatari on April 11th! The new opening is titled "Hakushu Kasai Utaawase" [拍手喝采歌合 (はくしゅかっさいうたあわせ)]. The series will be running on Fuji TV's noitamina

This new song will be sung in traditional Japanese-style rock taste. The vocal will be provided by Koeda (こゑだ), who has been singing for supercell since the departure of Nagi Yanagi after Today Is A Beautiful Day album. At the age of 15, Koeda has been chosen among 2,000 candidate during the supercell audition. She will be providing a powerful voice for the re-running Katanagatari series, breathing new life into its opening. 

This new song will be included in supercell's new single, "Hakushu Kasai Utaawase", released on June 12, 2013. The single will have three versions: Standard Version [CD only], Limited Edition Set A [CD + DVD], and Limited Edition Set B [CD + BD].

supercell started out with multiple creator and composer ryo over the internet in 2007. It is now one of the highly praised bands in Japan, winning the Gold Disc by the Recording Industry Association of Japan, and chosen as one of the five best new Japanese artist in 2010 Japan Gold Disc Award.
