Good Smile Company has announced that they are now taking pre-orders at their online shop for new figures including fan-favorite Vocaloid Hatsune Miku, Armin Arlert from Attack on Titan and Shinobu Oshino and Nadeko Sengoku from Bakemonogatari. The figures will be shipped between June and July of this year, with pre-orders closing soon.
With a rough total of 195 new figures at the latest Winter Wonder Festival 2013, there is a lot to cover. Fortunately, we've taken the time to look through most of the new releases and picked out the best ones we think deserve the spotlight and your precious pre-order dollars.
Not surprisingly, Good Smile Company ranks in as #1 for their sheer number of new figures. Granted more than half of them are Nendoroid and Nendoroid Petit series, but they've covered good ground and haven't left their non-Nendoroid fans in the dark.
Max Factory has 26 new figures, most of them are figmas, while Kotobukiya previewed 11 new figures for their line up. (Warning: This post is very image heavy.)
Originally scheduled to be released in November 2012, this lovely Good Smile Company 1/8th scaled Ultimate Madoka PVC figure was finally given the green light late into December. If you were one of the lucky individuals who got a hold of one, or dare I say two, around that time, it surely was a great way to ring in the New Year. But for those, including myself, who had to wait a little longer through the days of 2013 for the goddess to grace our sanctuary, I can honestly say that it did not disappoint.
Good Smile Company really likes teasing us. Posted on their Facebook page, they recently uploaded pictures of their latest Nendoroid Petit set: Racing Miku Set 2010 Version. Featuring Miku, Rin and Luka all in racing/pit-stop outfits, this set is sure to be another hit. Like the previous Nendoroid Petit Miku Racing set, this package also features another Nendoroid race car. Users that missed out on the exclusive and limited full-sized Nendoroid Racing Miku now have a chance to recapture her in petit form! The release date and exclusiveness for this Nendoroid Petit set is unknown, but usually when Good Smile Company posts images on their Facebook, the figure in question becomes available for pre-order in a couple of days. So keep your eyes peeled and check your local online retailer.
With Wonder Festival Summer 2010 creeping around the corner, companies could not but help leak some of the goodies that will be available for order or pre-order.
Last Wonder Festival we saw two Nendroids; Mio and Ritsu, both in their Live Stage outfits. With the second season anime just as popular as ever, K-ON! is getting more Nendoroid treatment, this time featuring both the guitarist "Yui Hirasawa" and the keyboardist "Tsumugi Kotobuki" wearing the costumes they wore at Sakura High's Festival.
Both figures come with two different expressions as well as their respective instruments, and Yui even comes with castanets to recreate the ever-popular "Untan ♪" scene! The set also comes with a di:stage for them to perform on till their heart's are content!
Nearing the release date of the anime, Good Smile Company has finally put out the highly anticipated animation version of Black Rock Shooter. This PVC figure features a more dynamic pose. Good Smile Company has captured Black Rock Shooter in mid-motion. Her large Rock Cannon is still with her as she holds it with both hands.
Similar to the previous Black Rock Shooter figures, the base is styled in the same fashion. With checkered black and white tiles and broken rocks, the base serves to further enhance the atmosphere of the figure. The chains looping around the figure seem to be well detailed and can stand on their own. Like the previous figure, the Rock Cannon is well proportioned and is still given that grainy-worn look.
