During today's Nintendo Direct, Bayonetta 3 was shown off with a brand new 8-minute gameplay trailer detailing some of the new mechanics in the game.
It’s been 4 years since we last saw a small glimpse of Bayonetta 3 at game awards in the form of a small teaser trailer. I am happy to report that Bayonetta is back in action and sexier than ever with new mechanics and over-the-top stylish action. After playing Bayonetta 3 for the first time I am excited to see what has changed.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is finally available. The long-awaited RPG, touts a more massive overworld, more characters than ever before, and a breathtaking story.
Fans of the hair-wielding witch will be glad to hear that Bayonetta 3 has been announced for an October 28 release on the Nintendo Switch.
Nintendo has quietly revealed a new model in the Nintendo Switch family called the Switch OLED model. If you were hoping for a Switch Pro that doesn’t seem to be the case here but still very intriguing.
So we all saw and heard the announcement from Nintendo about Labo. While some people were happy to hear this news, while others somewhat hesitant upon the announcement. Everyone had the same question “Will this be popular or just a passing fad?” There was no real clear answer. But now the Labo has been launched, I am still on the fence about this DIY game that seems to be somewhat of a learn-it-yourself-programming-software skill builder more than real games.
Nintendo had quite a setup this year with a playable build of the new Smash Bros. Ultimate, but it also had an elaborate booth for attendees to see some very cool Smash Bros props.
Nintendo’s E3 booth gave congoers a one way ticket to New Donk City; one of the few places one can explore in the New Super Mario Odyssey set to be released this October. We had to explore the booth since every corner hid something that we missed on the first time we passed by. First, we saw the playable stations which were quickly noted by the long lines. The demos were Super Mario Odyssey, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, Splatoon 2, Arms, Pokkén Tournament DX and Fifa 18. Oh yea, they also had a giveaway for a foam Mario Cap. If you wanted to get it, you had to do a stamp rally by playing some of the demos, but to get started, you had to first play the Mario Odyssey demo to obtain a “passport” to stamp. When you had achieved all those steps, you would head over to the “Crazy Cap” line to trade the passport for your prize.
If you were like me, you may have been a little confused by the name of this game. The synopsis and style are very similar, but the name is different from what you might’ve thought. For those that are not familiar, Story of Seasons is, in-fact, the formerly known Harvest Moon franchise out here in the West and Trio of Towns is the third game that is released under this re-branded title. The premises of the game is pretty straightforward; perform day-to-day activities such as cultivating crop, tending to livestock, fishing, mining, managing your farm's finances and the like. With the aid of part-time jobs, the goal is to make profit and eventually earn enough money to settle down with a respectable young man/lady and start a family of your own.
This year GameStop Expo 2016 was held on September 14th at the Anaheim Convention Center in California. I attended this one-day event to check out some of the games that we didn’t have time to play at E3 or PAX. As with E3 this year, the emphasis revolved around VR and there plenty of opportunities to try out VR at GameStop Expo. GameStop Expo has a different feel than any other gaming convention I’ve attended so far.
