I've been reading a manga called Kengan Ashura for quite a bit. Big muscles. Blood. Lots of graphic violence as fighters go mano a mano. This isn't your usual shonen fare. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that an anime was announced, and under Netflix's ever-growing umbrella no less. The project began in 2015 after being the winner of a fan vote for anime adaptation and is finally coming to fruition.
At this year's Anime Expo, Square Enix's mobile game producer Takaaki Kai told us with Star Ocean: Anamnesis, there were a lot of challenges involved to make sure that the game was still fun and intuitive on a mobile device. We got in touch with Kai and Star Ocean's character designer, Akiman, to talk about their involvement with Anamnesis, the direction of the Star Ocean franchise, and more. Read on for the full interview!
It's been two years since the release of Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness and Square Enix and tri-Ace are teaming up again to make Star Ocean: Anamnesis for the mobile platforms and from my interview at Anime Expo, they made it pretty clear that there is a big emphasis making sure that the game is fun and intuitive.
Wow. What a hell of a way to start Anime Expo 2018.
The Aquors concert on Day 0 was truly a once in a lifetime event that will likely never be replicated. If you've been living under a rock, Aquors is the hyper-popular group at the central focus of Love Live: Sunshine. This is the first time that Aquors and Love Live as a whole, has held a full, one man, overseas concert. For a lot of people, this was THE event to see at Anime Expo and I'd be hard-pressed to disagree. Anisong World Matsuri has quickly become a cornerstone event of Anime Expo and it is hard to imagine an AX without one.
