New Evangelion Video Short: "until You come to me." stars


With the winter holidays about to begin, Evangelion fans around the world are in for a treat. As part of the Japan Anima(tor)'s Exhibition, Studio Khara released an animated Evangelion short on December 19. The short itself appears to be set right after the events of the third film, with several flashback scenes that may have occurred in between the second and third film of what may be a significant revelation regarding the series' protagonist, Shinji Ikari.

UNIVERSAL COOL JAPAN to feature Evangelion, Attack on Titan, Biohazard and Monster Hunter stars


If you're a fan of games and anime, then Universal Studios Japan has a special treat for you! Well, that is assuming you're planning on booking a trip to Japan sometime within the beginning of 2015. From January 23 to May 10, UNIVERSAL COOL JAPAN will be taking over the amusement park for a total of 108 days. In addition to the previously announced Biohazard (Resident Evil) and Monster Hunter, the main attraction for Universal Cool Japan will also include a special 4D Evangelion attraction along with a full reproduction of a life-sized Titan from Attack on Titan to showcase these special entertainment brands in an immersive environment. First 6.5 Minutes of Evangelion 3.0 (Video) stars


Making it's way around the internet, approximately the first 6.5 minutes of the new Evangelion 3.0: You Can (Not) Redo was aired after the first 2 Rebuild of Evangelion movies were aired on Nippon Television Network in celebration of the new movie's release on November 17, 2012.

I have nothing really more to say except if you are die hard Evangelion fan, you don't want to miss it. Video inside.

J-Pop Summit Festival 2012: Real Escape Game X Evangelion stars

One part scavenger hunt and one part 'choose your own adventure' narrative, Real Escape Game is real-life activity where groups of people are given an objective, follow and decipher clues, and work together to 'escape' from a threat. With having staged two previous events with much success, the group behind Real Escape Game planned something special for the J-Pop Summit Festival in San Francisco, especially since San Francisco is home to Viz Media, Inc., home of the popular series Neon Genesis Evangelion.


[Fashion] Evangelion Parkas stars

news eva_parkaFashion retailer Mobacolle is collaborating with anime studio Gainax to release cat eared parkas based on the hit Evangelion series. The parkas are based on each of the Evangelion units (00 yellow, 01 purple, 02 red) and will be reversible. Unfortunately the parkas are only currently available for preorder in women and kid sizes and will retail for 7245 yen from the Official Gainax store.

As a note, over the years, artists have created various fanart involving the series as hoodies. Probably the most popular are the hoodie adaptation of the plug suits that each pilot wears. Pictures of fan art and of the parkas inside.

[Alter] Asuka Langley Plug Suit Test Type PVC Figure

asuka_plug_suit_thumbAs seen in the Rebuild of Evangelion movies, You Can (Not) Advance, this figure is modeled after Asuka in the special test plug suit as she prepares to pilot the experimental Eva Unit 03.  Alter has spent a great time to polish the details on this figure.

The cables that run through the test plug suit physically pop out and hold a unique texture.  The use of rubble and distorted steel beams for the structure create a perfect atmosphere for the scene.

Evangelion Ramen on Sale in Akihabara stars

Akibablog reports that several stores in Akihabara began selling Evangelion pork flavored garlic instant ramen for 380 yen at BlueLamm, and 500 yen at Lammtarra Epixis. Online retailer Amiami apparently carried it at one point but was forced to halt sale. The ramen is suppose to be a prize item at Pachinko parlors and at some arcades only. Interestingly, the instant ramen contains AT-Field shaped fish cakes. See for yourself inside.

Evangelion: 2.0 Movie Trailer stars

The trailer for the Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance was released last week. The movie will be in Japanese theaters on June 27, 2009. For those of you who have not seen it yet, we have included it after the jump.
