So, this was a night of firsts.

First time for me at the Fox Theater. First time for me to see Epica. First time for one of my friends and concert buddies to see both Epica and Sabaton. Not to mention, the first time I'm seeing Sabaton after a dreadful last two years. The pandemic has not been kind to live concerts, and I've seen many a tour be canceled, postponed, or cut short early.  It was a good night.  I've always wanted to see Epica, and Sabaton is one of my go-to bands time after time.  This show was a natural choice for me.  

At this year's Crunchyroll Expo, we met up with Rosalie Chiang who was very excited to attend her very first anime convention. Chiang is best known for her work as the character Mei Lee in the Pixar movie Turning Red on Disney Plus. We sat down with Chiang, to discuss anime, Turning Red, and more. ATARASHII GAKKO! took the stage once again in California, this time at Crunchyroll Expo. This marks the third time they have performed in America.

Returning to Anime Expo 2022 is the professional cosplay duo of Tasha and Doremi from the South Korean cosplay group Spiral Cats. Famous for their amazingly accurate depictions of video game and anime characters, they have gained international stardom through modeling for numerous video game companies such as Blizzard Entertainment and Riot Games. They have also appeared in televised shows and online programming in South Korea.

Crunchyroll Expo's 2022 edition features a slightly different musical format than last time.  Instead of a concert with a separate ticket purchase, they have decided to make it all-inclusive with your badge.  They've just announced BURNOUT SYNDROMES as one of the headliners of the New Cruncy City Music Fest.

bilibili, China's largest streaming site, has just announced a streaming event featuring some of Japan's top anison artists.  The event is titled "BILIBILI MACRO LINK - STAR PHASE" and will take place on July 17

Earlier this year, Hikaru Utada streamed a special concert titled "Hikaru Utada Live Sessions from Air Studios." It was later bundled on DVD and Blu-Ray alongside the limited edition release of her latest album, BAD MODE. As of today, you can also watch it worldwide on Netflix!
