Black Rock Shooter Game US Release Hinted?

NIS America announced on Tuesday that they have secured the rights to publish games by Imageepoch in the United States and Europe. Haru Akenaga, President of NIS America was quoted,

I am attracted by their philosophy of creating games. Imageepoch is already a distinguished videogame developer in Japan. Not only that, but it is my firm belief that their future titles will fascinate JRPG fans in the US and Europe in the near future.

Interestingly this collaboration announcement with NIS America came almost exactly a week after Imageepoch's press conference which apart from announcing several new titles, also revealed more information on their upcoming PSP blockbuster title, Black Rock Shooter.

Though none of this definitively proves anything, we would say an English release is likely based on NIS America's history. Stay tuned as we keep you updated with the latests news.

Imageepoch has previously worked on the Luminous Arc series and the PSP title Fate/Extra based off the Fate/stay night franchise.

NIS America Announces Bonus Content for Anime

NIS America announced earlier this week the release dates of PandoraHearts and Our Home’s Fox Deity Volume 2. You can nab PandoraHearts on January 25th and Fox Deity on February 22nd both for $59.99. Although that's a high figure, both boxed sets end the series and have a lot of bonus content.

PandoraHearts and Our Home’s Fox Deity Volume 2 come with hard cover art book and 12 episodes in 2 DVDs.

Our Home’s Fox Deity Volume 2 has a bonus disc that contains interviews with Japanese voice actors and actresses. It is 280 minutes in total and sounds like interesting footage for Japanese voice actors/actresses fans.

If you're ready to lay down the cash, you've got two options for some paranormal based fun.

NIS America Press Event 2010 Report

Game publisher NIS America threw a press event in San Francisco on Thursday. The event itself was more of a party, with journalists and friends mingling with the staff and each other, sharing food and drinks together. 3 Games were specifically announced, Z.H.P., Cladun, and Ar tonelico Qoga.

Special guest Souhei Niikawa, President of Nippon Ichi Software, was also in attendance and discussed about limiting the number of games his company would be releasing and mentioned a near future release of a new Disgaea title for the Playstation 3. His full statement can be found inside.

We asked about Atelier Totori, Prinny 2, and Neptune; PR Manager Nao Zook told they were hoping they would be able to bring those games over in the near future. We will have to wait for NIS America’s next press event.

NIS America Announces Z.H.P.

For fans who liked Disgaea, they will be happy to know there is going to be a similar game called Zettai Hero Kaizou Keikaku (it will be localized in the US being called Z.H.P. ~Unlosing Ranger VS Darkdeath Evilman~) coming out between Fall or Winter 2010. It will be available in UMD format for the PlayStation Portable (PSP) as well as for download on the PlayStation Network. From the initial trailer and gamplay, it looks like the gameplay will be very similar to Disgaea's; however, the protagonist will have no party members. Supposedly there are “40 million ways to play” the game, though leveling up may or may not be as repetitive as in Disgaea. The promised countless combinations seem very appealing due to each combination having its own specific feature. This may be a hit-or-miss feature, as seen in other games that have tried it in the past.
