AX 2018: Square Enix to Feature Producer Takaaki Kai and Gamer/Gravure Idol Yuno Mizusawa

Visit the Square Enix booth in the Entertainment Hall to meet Takaaki Kai, the global producer of STAR OCEAN: ANAMNESIS, a free-to-play action RPG launching July 2018 for iOS and Android devices, and Yuno Mizusawa. Yuno is a Japanese gravure idol well versed in video games of all genres. She will make an appearance at Anime Expo 2018 as the official cosplayer of Evelysse from STAR OCEAN: ANAMNESIS, a free-to-play mobile game launching in July 2018.

So we all saw and heard the announcement from Nintendo about Labo. While some people were happy to hear this news, while others somewhat hesitant upon the announcement. Everyone had the same question “Will this be popular or just a passing fad?” There was no real clear answer. But now the Labo has been launched, I am still on the fence about this DIY game that seems to be somewhat of a learn-it-yourself-programming-software skill builder more than real games.

The Dead or Alive series has always been a guilty pleasure of mine. It's over the top story and the ability to pull off flashy combos, are some of my favorite moments to have experienced with the series to date. While I am not very knowledgeable about fighting games by any stretch of the imagination, there's something quite intriguing that keeps me coming back for more.
After watching Dying Light 2's spectacular E3 trailer, it's immediately clear that this is a very different game than its predecessor. During an extended demo behind closed doors of Dying Light 2 at E3 this week, we learned from the lead game designer, Tymon Smektala about how the team rethought everything about parkour, melee combat, and story narrative to create something very ambitious, but shows a lot of potential.
Nintendo had quite a setup this year with a playable build of the new Smash Bros. Ultimate, but it also had an elaborate booth for attendees to see some very cool Smash Bros props.

We expected to see more of The Last of Us Part II at E3 2018 and it didn't fail to impress. Sony revealed a new gameplay trailer during its media showcase and it was both passionate and horrifying.
Kingdom Hearts III will feature a world based on Disney's popular series Frozen, it was revealed today during Microsoft's E3 press conference.
Mobile game Girls Frontline will begin its Open Beta at 9PM PST (UTC-8) on Tuesday, May 8. Developer Sunborn is responsible for bringing the English version to market and it will be available for both Android and iOS. Word is that the open beta is more or less the actual release; data will not be wiped which contrasts with the closed beta.

The demo itself comes with a very intriguing feature, allowing you to communicate with the Amazon Alexa device using an extended skill called "CyberLife", to uncover hidden info about characters, environments, and scenarios. The extension also serves as a way to help players navigate through the investigation giving them helpful insight. Here are some interesting facts we learned.

Dragon Quest fans can finally breathe a sigh of relief as Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age now has an official release date in the west. The title will launch on September 4th on PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam.
