Never thought I'd see Steve Aoki related to Anime Expo but here we are.  Toei Animation pairs with none other than famed DJ and producer Steve Aoki for promoting One Piece Film Red. There's a decent chance that this also means a premiere of the film too.

After two years, Anime Expo will finally resume in-person activities. Like many conventions, Anime Expo took some time off during the pandemic. With the advent of various countermeasures, it's now time for a roaring return to the conventions we all love and enjoy. It's time for this time-skip arc to end. Anime Expo will be held this year at the Los Angeles Convention Center during July 1 through 4th.

Normally on a July 4th weekend we'd be down in Los Angeles with 100,000 other fans for none other than Anime Expo. COVID19 has put a wrench in convention plans for the year but that doesn't mean absolutely nothing will be going on. Anime Expo, Funimation, Aniplex, and a Canadian named Kurotsuki have taken it upon themselves to hold events online. We'll be focusing on the SPJA's "Anime Expo Lite," being held on July 3-4, for this article.

Crunchyroll is one of English's most prominent licensing and production houses and they had quite a bit on their plate at Anime Expo for congoers to view and experience.  They've also got their own upcoming Crunchyroll Expo on Labor Day.

Anime Expo 2019 may not have had as many concerts as years past but what it did have was quality. Love Live's Aqours played to two sold-out crowds at The Novo on July 5th and 6th. The performances, titled "BRAND NEW WAVE," would leave concertgoers with memories for years to come and build upon Aqours' legacy in Los Angeles.

Anime Expo has announced the Love Live juggernaut once more. The members of Aquors will grace Los Angeles live on TWO days this July.

One thing Anime Expo is known for is its great numbers of high-quality guests. It's a topic that is speculated about every year. Anime Expo has finally announced what is the first of a flood of guests to come.

Asian Kung Fu Generation has just announced something big: their first US show. It'll take place in Los Angeles on July 2nd and just a few blocks away from Anime Expo at the Teragram Ballroom.

Anime Expo 2016 takes place next week, from July 1st to July 4th at the Los Angeles Convention Center, once again AX will feature a number of video game, visual novel, and mobile game companies, and more. As part of their 25th anniversary event Anime Expo and parent organization the Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation has announced a new initiative titled the "Youth Protection Program" (YPP).  On the surface its intent is to provide a fun, safe place for its attendees but it has raised a number of issues including actual effectiveness, timing, and cost.  We will take a look at some of the benefits it brings about as well as some of the potential pitfalls.
