With the success of visual novel games rising in the West, a collaboration between Degica Co., Ltd. and ixtl will be bringing one of the most acclaimed visual novels, Muv-Luv, to fans via Kickstarter later this year.
Released in limited quantities at Comiket 87, Itaru Hinoue's (Clannad, Rewrite) newest visual novel Holy Breaker will be released in Japan next week by publisher Visual Arts. Involving a plot revolving around a conflict between magic users, the black witch Minase Tenma and the conjurer Haruka Abeno, they compete to gather ten magical weapons and gain untold power. The protagonist, Tsukomo Izumi becomes involved after he witnesses them fighting.

Earlier today, SEGA announced that anime/manga fighter Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax will be released this summer on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. Featuring characters including Asuna from Sword Art Online, Kuroyukihime from Accel World and support characters like Touma Kamijou from A Certain Magical Index and Izaya Orihara from Durarara!!, this fighting mashup takes manga characters straight out of the Dengki Bunko magazine in Japan and fields them against each other in SEGA-themed worlds.

Final Fantasy fans rejoice! In the upcoming update to the MMO Final Fantasy XIV, Square-Enix has released a new patch trailer that features the Gold Saucer's triumph return as the Manderville Gold Saucer. Built around a Cactuar, the building itself resembles the original Gold Saucer from Final Fantasy VII and the theme song can be heard through the venue in game. In addition to some new mini games, some of the fan favorites make a return including Chocobo racing, UFO catcher, and basketball. As an added bonus, the addicting card game found in Final Fantasy VIII, Triple Triad, also makes a return with updated rules and revamped interface.
Players should start stockpiling their Gil as the Gold Saucer is set to open in patch 2.51 in late February.
