Sony Music Entertainment Japan (SMEJ) has launched its "Art × Entertainment" project, aiming to appreciate and recognize unique talents and create a platform for contemporary artists. The inaugural exhibition, "SHIGETO KOYAMA CCMS experiment OBAKE," will take place in New York City at NowHere (40 Wooster Street, First Floor) from November 9th to November 22nd, 2023. Renowned artist Shigeto Koyama will present his acclaimed animated work and delve into the creative process, aiming to break free from traditional art boundaries and offer fresh perspectives on anime.

Koyama's extensive creative scope spans character design for anime, manga, games, and figures, transcending the conventional boundaries of animation and revealing the artistic depth within anime. He emphasizes that this exhibition is not about showcasing individual achievements but is an experimental endeavor highlighting collaborative creativity with various talents. The exhibition starts by showcasing Koyama's multidisciplinary roles, emphasizing the human touch in animated works, and aims to convey the intriguing facets of animation production and design. Additionally, Koyama's creative unit, CCMS, known for their innovative thinking, will be spotlighted, inviting visitors to explore the world of anime and art in an "incomprehensible" yet captivating manner. Koyama will also host talks at the gallery on November 11 and November 20, providing unique insights into the world of animation and art.
