New features, such as IC Cards, mobile web integration, and new battle systems have been announced for Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme VS. IC Cards have been a part of arcade games in Japan for a while, but it’s the first time it will be integrated with the Gundam VS series. It will track player progress and records. However, there is no word yet on whether this will mean customizable mobile suits, like customizable characters in Tekken 6 or Super Street Fighter IV. Mobile web integration will allow players to create an online profile and connect their IC cards to it. Extreme VS will retain the NEXT Dash in Gundam VS NEXT and add in new “Extreme Action” and “Awakening” abilities. Not much about what these will do exactly. More info inside.
An update to the arcade version of BlazBlue: Continuum Shift will make an appearance at the Amusement Machine Show. Valkenhayn, the second downloadable character to be announced, will also be playable at the event. The game will be dubbed BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II, the first time an updated Arc System Works game will contain a number. Most likely, the updated version will include console downloadable characters, rather than balance changes and new features like those in Continuum Shift. More after the jump.
Previously announced for Japan, Vanquish’s demo will be coming stateside August 31. According to Sega community manager Julian Mehlfeld, the demo will include the same level that players were able to enjoy at E3. In addition, it will include various difficulty levels and a tutorial mode; hopefully this means that players will be able to enjoy the high-speed combat and not fling around the stage wildly instead. On top of that, we’re going to get it two days before Japan! Scrap those plans to make Japanese PSN or Xbox LIVE accounts.
