Wondercon 2011 Recap

Wondercon is a small comic book turned pop media convention which makes its home in San Francisco. The easy way to think about it: Comic Con's little sister. Even though it's a fraction of the size, Wondercon still packs a wallop every year. This time around T-ono caught some face-time with Hyung Min-Woo, some great panels, and awesome cosplay. Read on for what you missed at Wondercon 2011!

I know this is not news for those like me that have been following the anime series. I waited and waited for the last 2 episodes, and they finally were broadcasted by MBS.

What do you think?

Trying not to put any spoilers here, but I think it made the story finally goes to a conclusion and I like how the story has been laying down many hints in each episode. I'm happy that my guess about the "truth" after watching episode 10 was actually right. ;)

Some of my friends said, they feel depressed after the anime is done. But knowing it has been such a big success, I'm sure there will be more things following up!

Many Madoka related products are coming out:

Hi Everyone!

Some of you might already knew, or saw it on my FB updates. Nico Nico Douga (NND), English site is now up for beta testing! As a NND user since 2007, I'm so excited about the new English site! =D

Nico Nico Douga is a popular video streaming site in Japan. In the last 1.5 days, the "likes" on their Facebook page increased from 300 to over 1000. I'm sure many many anime fans like me are super excited about it!

The English NND staffs are now working hard to get everyone's input to make the site better.

Katanagatari & Arakawa Under the Bridge Licensed

Written by

NIS America has announced that they will be releasing a Blu-Ray and DVD combo premium set complete with hardcover artbook of the popular anime series Arakawa Under the Bridge and Katanagatari in English. Arakawa Under the Bridge originally was a manga created by Hikaru Nakamura while Katanagatari was a novel written by Nisio Isin (NisiOisiN) who also wrote the popular novel, Bakemonogatari.

The combo premium sets will retail for $69.99 each with a release date of July 5th, coinciding with North America's largest convention, Anime Expo.

Last year, NIS America released Toradora! in July during the weekend of Anime Expo and brought 2 key voice actors from the series to the show, Yui Horie and Eri Kitamura. For the perceptive folks out there, feel free to speculate in the comments.

While at Wondercon 2011, we got a chance to talk briefly with Hyung Ming-Woo, the creator of the manwha, Korean comic, Priest about the upcoming Hollywood adaptation of his series. Manwha have become quite popular in Japan recently with titles such as Black God and Freezing receiving anime adaptations. Check out our video interview with him for the full scoop!
