Publisher Alchemist has recently announced Gun Gal, an original on-rail shooter for the Xbox 360. Alchemist is teaming up with Studio Inti Creates, best known for the Mega Man Zero and Mega Man ZX series. Gun Gal is a shooter with anime-inspired visuals that will feature new and interesting gameplay elements that will make it the most original, or out of place, shooter around.

Gun Gal will contain different shooter elements in order to keep gameplay interesting. At certain moments, players will have to rescue girls from evil monsters. In addition, when players complete certain requirements, they will enter the Doki Doki Mode. This allows gamers to attack a girl in detail, seeking out weak points and possibly gaining more points.

Gamers will play as Tenzou, a young high school student struck by an apprentice angel, Patako’s love arrow, which makes him irresistible for the day. Tenzou must battle his way through school avoiding legions of school girls and their confessions of love. Tenzou doesn't actually fight girls in the school, he just rejects them. Players must find Tenzou's one true love. If Tenzou doesn't find the girl of his dreams, he will forever be without love.

Tenzou must target one of four heroines. Heroine Aoi Uno is voiced by Nozomi Yamamoto, Kaoruko Sakuazaki by Maya Uchida, Akira Hibuki by Fumiko Uchimura, and Kaname Nonmiya by Yukka Teramoto. Finally, the little cupid angel that started Tenzou's love-fest will be voiced by Yukari Tamura. Tamura is a well known Japanese voice actress and singer. She has graced her voice in many anime and video games, including Rozalin in Disgaea 2.

Gun Gal looks to be an interesting one-of-a-kind shooter. Turning down swarms of lovable, cute, anime girls never looked more fun. Gun Gal will appear in playable form at Tokyo Game Show this week. Alchemist says that they will release future downloadable content once the game is released this winter. There is no word on a North American release or even talk about going multi-platform, but Xbox 360 fans surely do have something to look forward to.
