NEMOPHILA Returns to America!

Nemophila finally makes their return to California, and America at large.

Previously, they appeared set to arrive in California late last year, but due to unforseen circumstances, that fell through.

Things have changed quite a bit between now and the last time they were here, including playing a landmark show at the Nippon Budoukan in Tokyo in early 2024, as well as the subsequent departure of guitarist Saki, who had originally intended to be a producer for the band before instead joining as a full time member.

Much like many other bands, I had to go to Japan in order to see Nemophila again. I made a special trip to see them at the Budoukan show and it would be that my other trips did not align with their shows up until last year when they played alongside visual kei band Jiluka (who are also making their way across the United States this year) at a joint live in Kichijoji.

The band, now a quartet, released the album Apple of My Eye in early 2025, and most recently the EP Gozo, in early 2026. Expect the set list to go between old and new, with much of the five songs from Gozo being part of it.

Nemophila will be taking a trip across a good chunk of North America. Sadly, no San Francisco show this time, but such is the fate of many Japanese tours. You always get Los Angeles, and if you're lucky, you get a San Francisco show, or God forbid, Aftershock (who then hits the rest of the area up here with a radius clause).
