Rolling Quartz is at the forefront of Korean rock, which historically has not had a lot of international shows. As mentioned previously, Rolling Quartz is composed of members from two previous bands, Rolling Girlz and Rose Quartz, with Arem (Ba), Iree (Gt) hailing from the former, and Yeong Eun (Dr), Ja Young (Vo), and Hyun Jung (Gt), from the latter. They've just announced a new American tour for later in 2026.
The group just finished up a Europe tour which took them around the continent and included visits to Germany, the Netherlands, France, and the United Kingdom, plus a few others. What's new between now and last year? The band has been busy with performing around the world including festival shows in Poland and Croatia and stops in Japan and Taiwan.
Their most recent release is the mini-album Roll the dice which includes the tour namesake "My Turn" along with the singles "RE. BOLD," "Masquerade," and "Romantist." They've released music videos for three of the songs from the album in the form of "Masquerade," "Red Hot," and "Romantist." The three songs that received new music videos cannot be any more different from each other, with "Masquerade" being heavy, "Red Hot" being more of a pop punk, and "Romantist" being on the ballad side of things. Of note is that the music video for "Romantist" opens with Ja Young singing, Iree on acoustic guitar, and drummer Yeong Eun on the keyboard. Once the whole band comes in, Iree switches back to her usual electric guitar, Yeong Eun returns to her rightful place behind the kit, and Ja Young takes up the keyboard. The video includes footage from meet and greets and some of their overseas shows, showing just how far the band has come since their founding in 2020.
At the beginning of April the group released a music video for the mini-album's title track "Roll the dice" which features Lee Si Yeon of ChRocktikal/Dreamcatcher. ChRocktikal is actually on the back end of their first US tour as we speak. With "RE. BOLD" having been initially released in 2024 and already having its own music video, and "My Turn" having one from late 2025, all of the songs and their music videos are accounted for.
The upcoming tour has California dates split between Northern and Southern California so no matter what part of the state you're in, they've got something nearby. Sacramento will be on September 16, Oakland on September 17, Los Angeles on September 19, and San Diego on September 20.
One thing I am noticing is that Korean acts are much more willing to spend money and cross continents to get in front of people. A lot of acts from other countries might only do a few shows in California, Texas, and New York, and by shows, I mean a singular one in each state. This upcoming tour boasts four shows in California and four shows in Texas alone, nevermind all the other United States shows. They'll also be visiting most of the major tour cities in Canada including Quebec, Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver.
The tour begins in mid-July, so keep an eye out for your local date. There is a roughly one-month gap between the Toronto date and the Vancouver date.
