Foundation launch party.
Fans are encouraged to ³dress to impress² as the entire band will take over
the famous Club Nokia venue and ³rock the house²!
Calling X Japan the most successful rock band in Japan is not a statement
made lightly. X Japan has sold more than 30-million albums, singles and
videos, headlined and sold out Japan's 55,000-seat Tokyo Dome 18 times - so
far - and has started playing to tens of thousands of fans outside of Japan.
The band's look and sound sparked a global interest in Japanese
entertainment, especially with the Japanese cultural rock phenomenon,
"Visual-Kei," a movement X Japan pioneered that went on to become a catalyst
for today's worldwide Anime craze.
Yoshiki, the band's leader/songwriter/drummer and classically-trained
pianist, has been referred to by his first name only throughout his
professional career, and is arguably Asia's most influential musical artist
and biggest rock icon. According to one industry insider, "Yoshiki is to
Japan what Bono is to the UK." The members of X Japan include Yoshiki, Toshi
(vocals), Pata (guitarist), Heath (bass), and Sugizo (guitar).

Capcom is happy to announce that Olivia Munn will be hosting the Lost Planet 2 “Kill Big for Charity” launch event and celebrity tournament in Los Angeles on May 6. The combined celebrity and community tournament is the final chapter in Capcom’s month long “Kill Big for Charity” campaign where community members were called into action to support a good cause and download the newest Lost Planet 2 multiplayer demo on Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network. Capcom, in partnership with Music for Relief, has promised in return to donate $25,000 to charity if the demo hits 1.5 million downloads. The tournament on May 6 th, comprised of celebrities, press, community and super-fans will compete in a variety of Lost Planet 2 multiplayer modes. The victorious team will then get the honor of choosing the charity from a list of Music for Relief partnerships.
Community members can compete for a seat in the celebrity tournament and a trip to Los Angeles to attend the launch party by submitting their best tips and tricks for beating the new Lost Planet 2 multiplayer demo by this Thursday to Capcom Unity at http://www.capcom-unity.com/snow_infernus/blog/2010/04/01/lost_planet_2_-_kill_big_for_charity
Four lucky community members and Lost Planet 2 super-fans will be awarded spots in the celebrity tournament.
Lost Planet fans and Capcom community living in the Los Angeles area are encouraged to attend the event on May 6th from 8pm to midnight, for more information check out www.capcom-unity/xxx.com.
The “Kill Big for Charity” program, which kicked off earlier this month, is a robust charity and community program which includes a donation to Music for Relief for each demo downloaded via Xbox LIVE® or PlayStation Network. Capcom has created a charity fund of $20,000 as a donation for the first one million Lost Planet 2 multiplayer demos downloaded on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 from March 31 through midnight PT May 5. If the demo surpasses the million mark across both platforms, an additional $5,000 will be donated when an extra 500,000 downloads is achieved. With the multiplayer demo now released wide to the public, Capcom is encouraging gamers to download the demo to help continue towards the goal of one million downloads.
